Boxing legend Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao will make his return to the ring when he faces former four-division world champion Adrien Broner in a WBA welterweight title fight, Jan. 19, 2019 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A win for Pacquiao (69-7-2 39 KO’s) may lead to a possible rematch with Floyd Mayweather, a fight both fighters have discussed for next year.
Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs), comes into the fight 0-1-1 in his past two bouts. He lost a decision to Mikey Garcia in July 2017, and boxed to a majority draw with Jessie Vargas on April 21, 2017.
“I have missed fighting in Las Vegas. It has been a second home to me,” said Pacquiao. “Returning to the MGM Grand Garden Arena to defend my world title against Adrien Broner is an exciting way to stage my homecoming. Adrien is a tough opponent with an accomplished record. But if I have learned one thing while serving in the Philippine Congress and Senate, it is problem solving.”
“I have paid my dues in this sport, and now it’s time for me to get mine,” Broner said. “I get more views than everybody when I fight. A lot of people are going to see me pack off Pacquiao into retirement, and without his belt.”
Tickets for Pacquiao vs. Broner go on sale this Sat. (Nov. 24) and start at $1,500, $1,000, $750, $500, $300, $200 and $100. Fight fans can purchase tickets online through AXS.com – by phone at 866-740-7711 or in person at any MGM Resorts International box office.
