New York City, NY- At yesterday’s press conference, heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder announced that he will be facing his mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale, on May 18th at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, for his WBC Heavyweight Title.
The title fight will be broadcasted on Showtime Championship Boxing.
Wilder decided to stay loyal to Showtime rather than signing with DAZN, with Showtime paying him big money for a three fight deal. We can only hope that Wilder will be offered fights with Fury and Joshua pending his outcome with Breazeale.
Breazeale, is 20-1 with 18 KOs. His only loss was to Anthony Joshua nearly three years ago. Since then, he has won his last three fights, setting him up as a Wilders mandatory.
We will keep you posted.
