Unified WBO, WBA and IBF heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, may be looking for a new opponent for his June 1st title fight at Madison Square Garden.

According to sources, Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller has tested positive for the banned substance GW1516, also known as Cardarine and Endurobol.

GW1516 is on the World Anti-Doping Agency’s banned list and is classified as a metabolic modulator. It is used it to assist in fat loss or use as an endurance booster.

Match room boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, has confirmed that there was an adverse finding from the urine sample Miller provided the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association on March 20.

Hearn has acknowledged the test results and issues a statement.

“We have been informed by VADA that there has been an adverse finding in Jarrell Miller’s sample collected on March 20th, 2019.”

” We are working with all relevant parties and will update with more details soon. AJ’s preparation continues for June 1st at MSG.”

Dmitriy Salita, Miller’s co-promoter with Greg Cohen, issued a statement as well, telling ESPN:

“We are in the process of obtaining further information about VADA’s finding and will have more to say soon on this developing situation.”

“In the meantime, Jarrell continues to train for his June 1 fight against Anthony Joshua.”

If Miller is removed from the title fight, it will cost him his $6.5 million payday, the biggest purse of his career.

Miller, who has accused Joshua of using PEDs in the past, failed a PED test nearly five years ago, when he was a kickboxer. The California State Athletic Commission suspended him for nine months and fined him $2,500 because he tested positive for methylhexaneamine, a dietary supplement used for weight loss and improving athletic performance.

According to Hearn, Joshua will still be making his seventh title defense on June 1st in Madison Square Garden as planned, but who he will be facing is now a question that needs to be answered soon.

Possible opponents are Dillian Whyte, but it is highly unlikely that he would step in and face Joshua on such short notice. Luis Ortiz is also a big name that would make for an intriguing fight and it also presents different style compared to Miller. American heavyweight Michael Hunter has also offered his services.
