Danny Garcia Hopes He Didn’t Scare Away Manny Pacquiao

By Mark Elezaj

Former champion, Danny “Swift” Garcia, looked the best he has in quite some time with his one sided stoppage over the previously unstopped Adrian Granados.

After the fight, he wasted no time at all in calling out the big names to make the big fights happen. Garcia made it known that when he is at his best, no man can beat him, not even the two men who have previously beat him, Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter.

“I’ve said it before, when Danny Garcia is at his best, nobody can beat him,” said Garcia. “I had gotten a little comfortable in the past, but I put my 110 percent into this fight and when I do, I beat everyone.”

He wants a rematch with either fighter, while also mentioning that he wants to face both Errol Spence Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

“I hope I didn’t scare Manny Pacquiao away,” Garcia said after the win. “I’d love a rematch with Shawn Porter or Keith Thurman, or a fight with Errol Spence Jr. I’m back.”

Garcia most likely will likely receive another title shot, but it might not happen any time soon.

There are numerous reports that Shawn Porter and Errol Spence Jr. could meet in a unification bout in September. Porter, however, was ringside to watch Garcia defeat Granados.

Manny Pacquiao is looking for an opponent after his win over Adrien Broner. Fight fans thought a rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. was going to happen but that doesn’t seem to be the case. As it looks now, all signs are pointing to a Pacquiao vs. Thurman matchup happening in the summer.

Despite the rumors floating around, PBC promotions have hinted that Garcia could be in the mix for a Pacquiao fight if he looked impressive Saturday night, which he did by being the first man to knock Granados out.

Pacquiao said Saturday that he would consider Garcia or Thurman, as his next opponent for a possible fight in July.

The good news is that any of those fights can be made overnight, since each of the fighters are under contract with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions.
