On Friday night Zab Judah, 41, returned to the ring and fought Cletus Seldin, a 32 year old warrior at Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York. Cletus stopped Judah in the 11th round in a one-sided, brutal fight.
According to compu box numbers, Judah was punched in the head over 300 times during the fight. The accumulation of punches seems to have been too much for the former world champion.
After the fight, Judah appeared fine. But within 24 hours, was rushed to the emergency room, as a result of the injuries he sustained from the fight.
Unconfirmed reports are saying that Zab, allegedly, is in a “coma.”
Boxer Paulie Malinaggi’s cornerman, Peter Sferrazza, mentioned Judah’s condition on Twitter this morning:
“Hey Boxing world!! Not sure how true this is but I’ve heard from reliable sources that zab Judah is now in a coma! I’m not the most religious guy but if we could all pray for zab and or keep him and his family in our thoughts !! #getwellchamp @PaulMalignaggi”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Judah, his family and friends.
We will keep you posted as more news becomes available.
