In the latest news in the ongoing Dillian Whyte drug testing story, VADA, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, made an announcement today that both Dillian Whyte and Oscar Rivas both passed their final pre-fight (July 17th) and post-fight (July 21st) drug tests.
VADA announced back on April 26th that both Whyte and Rivas had officially entered their program.
With that being said, Whyte still isn’t out of the clear just yet.
The banned substance Whyte was said to have taken was an anabolic steroid known as Dianabol. The issue is that it has a short detection window when taken orally. If Whyte did take dianabol, it is a possibility that it may have passed through his system between the UKAD’s testing and VADA’s recent test.
Even though he passed VADA’s test, it doesn’t mean that Whyte is in the clear to fight anytime soon. The case is still under investigation.
Whyte had previously served a two-year ban for using the banned substance methylhexaneamine back in October of 2012. If it is proven that he did indeed use a banned substance for his recent fight, Whyte may face a minimum four year suspension, being that this is his second offense, in accordance with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) rules.
We will continue to update you with any new information as it is made known.
