Los Angeles- This Saturday night, IBF champion Errol Spence Jr. (25-0, 21 KO’s) will face WBC champion Shawn Porter (30-2-1, 17 KO’s) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Spence, who is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Mikey Garcia back in March, is the odds on favorite to beat Porter, who himself is coming off of a split decision victory over Yordenis Ugas last March.
Yes, the 29-year-old IBF champion Errol Spence is coming in as a very surprisingly high favorite (as high as -900), but you can not deny the fact that Porter may quite possibly be his toughest opponent to date.
Spence is known to walk down and systematically dismantles his opponents, while Porter is known to attack and push the action from the start of the fight to the final bell.
Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. is a -850 favorite in this fight, with the WBC champion, Porter, coming in at +525.
So, the only question worth asking is who wins Saturday night’s unification title fight? The family makes their picks.
THE FIGHTING VOICE’S PICKS:
“Spence by split decision in a close, fan friendly fight.” – Mark Elezaj
Spence by 7th rd. TKO” – Frank Elezaj
“Spence by unanimous decision.” – Ben Kocovic
“Spence by unanimous decision.” – Rocky Elezovic
“Spence with the TKO in the 10th. Porter only really dominated fighters who stepped up. Malignaggi and Alexander were 140lbs who stepped up. He looked vicious against them. Spence is dominant at that weight naturally. Too much Spence for Porter to handle.” – Geo Kocovic
“Spence by 5th Round ko” – Gezim Camaj
“Spence by unanimous decision” – Melvin Fernandez
“Porter by decision” – Maria Elezaj
“Porter by split decision. I think both have knockout power but with Porter having more experience going the distance if Spence doesn’t get a knockout before the 7th round it will be close, but ultimately Porter will score the points to win.” – Carmen Kocovic
Spence – 7 Porter – 2
