Las Vegas – The last time we saw Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury in the ring together, they fought to a very controversial draw 14 months ago.
Both fighters are positive that the rematch will not go to the judges.
Wilder (42-0-1, 41 KOs) will be defending his WBC title against the “lineal champion” Fury (29-0-1, 20 KOs) on Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas for one of the sport’s most anticipated rematches.
While fight fans believe that Fury will look to use the same strategy from their first fight in the rematch, Fury insists that he is looking to KO Wilder early.
One thing that is for sure is that Wilder’s gameplan will not change, he wants to land that massive right hand and end Fury’s night while putting all doubt to rest.
“Me and Wilder, this has to be the biggest heavyweight fight since the 1970s,” Fury told reporters Tuesday after arriving at the MGM Grand. “Muhammad Ali-Joe Frazier, 1971, about 50 years ago. It took awhile to get another massive heavyweight fight.”
Fury is a -110 favorite (risk $110 to win $100), while Wilder is priced at -106 (risk $106 to win $100) in the latest odds. The over under for total rounds completed is 10.5.
As the fight gets closer, the Fighting Voice family sits down to share their predictions for this highly anticipated rematch.
THE PREDICTIONS ARE IN!
“I think this fight will be a tough fight to call. In my opinion, Fury won the last fight. This time I think Wilder will come out more aggressive, but that will play into Fury’s game plan. Wilder can KO anyone at any time during a fight, but I think Fury will win by split decision.” – Mark Elezaj
“Fury is going in with a chip on his shoulder over what he thinks should have been a victory in the first fight. He’s going to try and dictate the pace of the fight and keep Wilder at a distance the same way he did the first time around, but also be more aggressive when he finds his openings to try and either end the fight early, or make it so the judges can’t make any mistakes this time around, Fury by decision” – George Kocovic
“I have Fury winning by unanimous decision.” – Gezim Camaj
“Wilder by 9th round KO” – Frank Elezaj
“Fury by decision.” – Ben Kocovic
“I really think Fury will win by late round KO..” – Rocky Elezovic
“Wilder by TKO.” – Maria Elezaj
“Fury will take some chances and will be trying to knock Wilders block off in the 7th to get a decisive win.” – Carmen Kocovic
“Wilder by knockout” – Melvin Fernandez
(Fury 6 – Wilder 3)
