Jean Pascal Tests Positive For Banned Substances

By Mark Elezaj

“My fight with @jeanpascalchamp is OFF as he tested positive for 3 different steroids,” Jack tweeted last Friday evening.

“We suspected he was dirty the first time around and @Vada_testing confirmed it this time. I’m still fighting on June 6th and my team is looking for a replacement opponent. Alhamdulillah.”

Jean Pacal and Badou Jack shared the ring in what many said was a very impressive fight back in 2019.

Pascal, who was victorious that night via split decision, was set to face Jack in a rematch on the undercard of the upcoming Floyd Mayweather exhibition match against Logan Paul.

This is no longer the case.

News broke early last Thursday that Pascal failed a drug test for the performance-enhancing drugs – Drostanolone, Drostanolone metabolite, and Epitrenbolone from a drug test result that was taken on May 14 and May 17.

“I am shocked and embarrassed. I would never voluntarily take illegal substances,” Pascal said in a statement.

“I’ve always fought for a clean sport and will continue to do so.

“I’m one of the first modern boxers to insist on random testing, and I’ve passed countless tests during my 13 years at the highest level of boxing. I want to assure all my fans that this is an isolated incident, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to prove it.”

But wait, there’s more…

Pascal has failed yet another drug test.

According to newly surfaced reports, Pascal (35-6-1, 20 KOs) has reportedly tested positive for his fourth banned substance, erythropoietin [AKA EPO].

Pascal has been working with Memo Heredia, who has a history of working with performance enhancing drugs, although Heredia has claimed he no longer deals with it.

Jack expressed his disappointment on the findings.

“I can’t even pronounce these steroids he took: Drostanolone, Drostanolone metabolite and Epitrenbolone,” Jack tweeted on Saturday.

Kelly Swanson, who represents Mayweather promotions, tweeted “Selfish fighters who fail drug tests disrupt family incomes mess up lots of monies spent on promotion and get suspended,

“For what? Lose before you cheat?”
