If you look up Boxing in the Merriam- Webster dictionary, it reads “the art of attack and defense with the fists practiced as a sport.” If you ask a fighter what boxing means they will probably say “Its A Lifestyle!” Frank Bruno once said “ Boxing is the toughest and loneliest sport in the world. You’ve got all the fans, lots of hangers-on jumping up and shouting different words. But when you actually go in the ring, it’s a very lonely and scary place. It’s just you and the other guy.”

Let that sink in! Pay attention to the words. “It’s a very lonely and scary place.”

If you’ve never stepped through those ropes, fought or trained, you will not understand what he means. The idea of two men (or women) stepping into the ring with the intent of hurting one another doesn’t seem right but in all reality makes perfect sense because it’s been happening since way back when. People are willing to pay their hard earned money to watch two warriors give it their all inside that ring, and if the fighter you like loses, he or she will be spoken down on or forgotten about at the blink of an eye.

The sport of boxing, MMA or any full contact sport for that matter is not easy. You have to not only train your body by putting it through extreme physical conditioning, but you have to train your mind as well. You have to come to terms with the fact that you’re going to get hit, it’s going to hurt and you may get knocked out, plain and simple.you also have to train your mind to understand that the person across from you is an opponent and you have to find a way to beat that person. Make his or her weaknesses your strengths!

And I love it! I truly admire the sport, the fighters and all who enter the ring or cage. I respect the trainers and the cornermen who make sure that their fighters are ready! The sport has given us so much! Heroes and villains, friends and foes, conversations amongst friends and arguments with strangers. It has given us something to look forward too. It has given us, BOXING!!!

This site is all about the fight game. It’s about opinions and facts. It’s a place where the fight fan can express him or herself. It’s a place where you can have a conversation about the sport of boxing or catch up on what is happening in the fighting world.

Enjoy!!
